The Oruc Family origins lie in the central plains of Konya. Mehmet Oruc, grandfather to Ahmed, Ramazan and Cumali was head of a family with 13 children. They made a living from carpet making, farming and construction work. Conditions were hard and like many families in that region during those early days life was tough and the Oruc's struggled to make a living. Grandfather Oruc died in 1983 and his son, also named Mehmet, determined that it would be better if he relocated. After much thought and research Mehmet moved his family to Dalyan in 1988. He died in 1992 but not before seeing his sons launch the business that was to diversify through Oruc Carpets, ORUC Construction, Dalyan Real Estate and more into the Blue Chip company that is ORUC International.

Charlie and Colin Bentley together with their wives visited Dalyan in the mid 1990's. They fell in love with the place and returned 6 weeks later to confirm their first impressions. Charlie in particular was captivated by the beauty, charm and tranquility of the region. He and Glynis were so taken that they determined to build their fabulous villa. A decision that not only proved to be a shrewd investment, but launched a firm and enduring friendship that has grown into ORUC International.
